How it works
How it works, from first question to funding
Six friendly steps. You go at your own pace; we do the matching and the explaining.
- 1
1. Learn as much or as little as you like
Start with Loans 101, check your readiness with the quiz, or skip straight ahead. There's no test at the end.
- 2
2. Tell us what you need (about 60 seconds)
Amount, purpose, how long you've traded, turnover and whether you own property. No credit check when you enquire. Please answer accurately; it's how we match you properly.
- 3
3. A real person calls you
Someone who knows business lending reads your enquiry and calls to understand the full picture, including anything the form didn't cover.
- 4
4. Your options, explained plainly
We explain what's realistic: secured or unsecured, the likely structure, what it would cost in total and what the lender would need. Ask anything.
- 5
5. Documents and application (only if you go ahead)
We tell you exactly which documents are needed and why, and prepare the application with a lender matched to your situation. One careful application, not many.
- 6
6. Offer, signing and funding
We walk you through the offer page by page, including fees and any guarantee. Once signed, funds are paid to your account or to whoever needs paying.
What makes this different for a first-timer?
Most lending websites assume you already know the language. We don't. Every step comes with an explanation of why it's happening, and you can ask as many questions as you like. If a word puzzles you, the jargon buster has it covered.
We also keep things focused. Your enquiry stays with the person working on it. We don't send it to a pile of lenders and wait to see who calls you. That protects your credit file from a cluster of applications and saves you a lot of unwanted phone calls.
What to have ready
- Photo ID and your ABN
- Your last few months of business bank statements
- Your latest BAS, if you lodge one
- Quotes for anything you're buying
- If property is involved: a recent rates notice and home loan statement
Not all of these are needed for every loan. The documents lesson explains what each one proves, and the loan-ready checklist helps you get organised.
Common questions
Does enquiring affect my credit score?
No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A credit check is only discussed once you've seen your options and decided to go ahead.
Will my details be sent to lots of lenders?
No. There's no spray and pray. A real person works on your enquiry and matches it to a suitable lender, rather than broadcasting it to many.
Do I have to be loan-ready before I enquire?
No. If you're not sure, enquire anyway. We'll tell you what's already strong, what would help and whether now is the right time.
What if the answer is 'not yet'?
Then we'll say so, and explain what would improve your position, such as a few more months of clean statements or getting BAS lodgements up to date. You can come back any time.
Is there any cost to enquire?
No. Enquiring is free and doesn't commit you to anything.
